Great simple america rest. Some places offer the same but get it all wrong. But this place gets it right, really right. Good prices, even better serving sizes. Right accross from the blue ridge train station so u cant miss it. Highly recommend. Real quick!! Its only cash and check for now to pay, they do have an ATM inside.

Treated myself to the gifts of the Pearly Gates Cafe during a layover from riding the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway. Melody the server was very kind and attentive. I wasn't famished but I had room to enjoy my order of fries and what seemed an endless refill of lemonade. I absolutely would recommend seeking this jewel out when visiting the majestic Blue Ridge Mountain area.

The food and service at pearly gates was excellent. Homemade lemonade was the best I've ever tasted. They have a fried corn on the cob, need I see more! It was yummy! If you eat there after going white water rafting with Rolling Thunder river company you get 10 percent off. Watch out they only take cash and we really didn't see a sign advetising that. They have an ATM but it wasn't working when we went in so make sure you have cash.

Food mediocre and so was the service. Most tasteless fries I think I've ever had. The interior decor was cure and quaint.

You won't feel you've reached the pearly gates eating here. We arrived on the train and asked in advance if 40 minutes was enough time for lunch. Waitress took our order, food arrived (incorrectly) and never saw her again. The order was wrong but she never returned so we had to go to the front counter. One waitress was checking out several people and ours was watching (we assumed learning the register). After making 3 trips to the register 30 minutes after ordering and still waiting in line to talk to a waitress, finally a good natured customer said go ahead of him. When we explained the order was wrong and no one came back to table she said after this customer we'll see what you need. The customer was gracious enough to insist they help us as we were on the train and it was scheduled to leave in 10 minutes. After explaining the burger wasn't what we ordered I said to the waitress that waited on us that had she at least come back even once we wouldn't have had to wait 40 minutes then take my food to eat after the train ride home. She just stood there looking at me and made no response while the other waitress had the witty response of "well we're busy". So you pay $30 dollars for 3 lunches and 2 have to be taken and eaten later. By the way - the burger was still wrong. How do you get a burger wrong when it's your special of the day and all you have to add is mayo and tomato? The food is one thing but the lack of service and crappy attitude is not acceptable. Save your money and visit some where that cares if customers are happy.
